  In view of the new alarming repression campaign of the Mexican state against the Zapatista communities of Chiapas in the last weeks and months, the German B.A.S.T.A. ¡Cese inmediato a todo tipo de agresiones contra los pueblos zapatistas!

"En lo que representa una feroz ofensiva no vista por lo menos desde los últimos 9 años ---cuando en tiempos de gobierno de Roberto Albores Guillen y Ernesto Zedillo Ponce de León se ordenó el desmantelamiento de los municipios autónomos zapatistas---, los pueblos autónomos zapatistas padecen una brutal embestida por manos del Estado mexicano a través de sus instituciones agrarias, de instancias de «Seguridad Pública”, del Ejército Federal mexicano y de la conformación de grupos paramilitares. La escalada de agresiones y pretensiones de despojos y desalojos forzosos se agravó alarmantemente."

Tomando en cuenta el nuevo reporte de del Centro de Análisis Político e Investigaciones Sociales y Económicas (CAPISE) de San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, y las denuncias de otras organizaciones independientes y de las autoridades zapatistas,

exigimos lo siguiente:

1.) Cese inmediato a todo tipo de agresiones contra los pueblos zapatistas.

2.) Retiro inmediato de los campamentos militares permanentes en el territorio indígena de Chiapas.

3.) Libertad inmediata de los presos políticos.

4.) Se cancele definitivamente cualquier nuevo intento de desalojo forzoso dentro del territorio indígena de Chiapas.

5.) Se abra una investigación inmediata sobre autoridades de la Procuraduría Agraria y sobre la Secretaría de la Reforma Agraria que deslinde y especifique responsabilidades en materia de abusos de autoridad y corrupción de funcionarios públicos.

6.) Se abra una investigación que especifique responsabilidades sobre la actuación del Ejército Federal mexicano en su vinculación con grupos paramilitares en el territorio indígena de Chiapas.

7.) Alto inmediato a la guerra de contrainsurgencia desarrollada contra pueblos indígenas zapatistas.

8.) El gobierno mexicano y el gobierno chiapaneco deben respetar y garantizar los derechos humanos y los derechos indígenas según la convención 169 de la OIT.

Stop all types of aggressions against Zapatista communities!

"In an offensive of a ferocity unprecedented in the last 9 years — since the government of Roberto Albores Aguillen and Ernesto Zedillo Ponce de León ordered the dismantling of the Zapatista autonomous municipalities — the autonomous Zapatista communities are suffering a brutal attack on the part of the Mexican State through their agrarian institutions, "Public Security" instances, the Mexican Federal Army and the formation of paramilitary groups. The increase of aggressions and the intents of land seizures and forced evictions are getting alarmingly worse." (CAPISE Press Bulletin, 25.9.2007)

In view of the latest report from the Center for Political Analysis and Social and Economical Investigations (CAPISE) from San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas, and the denuncias of other independent organizations and Zapatista authorities,

we demand the following:

I. The immediate cessation of all types of aggressions against the Zapatista communities.

II. The immediate withdrawal of all permanent military camps from the indigenous territory of Chiapas.

III. The immediate release of all political prisoners.

IV. The definitive cancellation of any new intention of forced evictions within the indigenous territory of Chiapas.

V. The immediate opening of an investigation against authorities of the Agrarian Prosecutor’s Office and the Secretariat of Agrarian Reform, to assess and determine responsibilities with regard to the abuses of office and the corruption of government officials.

VI. The opening of an investigation to determine responsibilities regarding the performance of the Mexican Federal Army with regard to its links to paramilitary groups in the indigenous territory of Chiapas.

VII. The immediate stop to the counterinsurgency war waged against the indigenous Zapatista communities.

VIII.) The full respect and the guarantee of the indigenous and human rights according to convention 169 of the OIT by the Mexican government and the government of Chiapas
